Abraham's Well is an ancient well located in the entrance to the ancient city of Be’er Sheva. According to religious belief, this is one of the wells dug by Abraham, the first Patriarch of the Jewish people. Tradition tells that Abraham dug a well in Be’er Sheva and that the people of Abimelech, king of Gerar, took it from him. After reproaching Abimelech for this act, the two made a covenant and an oath between them, signifying Abraham’s ownership of the well.
