The Bahai Gardens, located 2 kilometers north of the city of Acre, are the most sacred place in the world for the Bahai Faith. These vast Gardens form a wide circle surrounding the mansion in which Bahai, the Prophet-Founder of the Bahai Faith, resided, and the shrine where he was buried. The vast Gardens are designed in precision around the historical structures and in them one can find arch-shaped trimmed bushes, needle trees planted in straight lines and other geometrical structures created by natural elements. An Impressive circular path surrounds the shrine and the mansion and a long path leads from the entrance to the site to the door of the shrine. The last section of the path is paved with smooth white pebbles brought here from the shores of the Sea of Galilee. The Gardens where declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
