Every Thursday the old Bedouin market in Beer Sheva takes place. In fact, its roots go back to the beginning of the 20th century, when it served as a livestock market during the ottoman rule in this region. While it is true that today one cannot purchase any camels or donkeys here anymore, it is still possible to discover an abundance of other interesting finds in this place, such as: inexpensive toys, many clothing items, various souvenirs, kitchen and house ware, bags, nargila water pipes and various kinds of scented tobacco, shoes, beads, and also some authentic Bedouin items such as scarves, dresses, carpets, various spices of many colors, flavors and scents and copper items. The market takes place in a big parking lot near David Hacham Avenue.
