Quite a few forests cover the slopes of the Nazareth Mountains, and one of the bigger and most beautiful ones is Beit Keshet Forest: about 25,000 dunams of green and many charming hidden corners. Part of this forest serves as a Nature Reserve and in it there is a forest of the Tabor oaks, a remnant of the time when this forest ruled the area. Either way, this forest in its current form was planted during the 1950s and it is mostly made out of pine trees. And, as the Beit Keshet forest is not overly thick, one can see here in wintertime and spring time magnificent areas of blossoming flowers. At the heart of the forest, an 18 kilometer beautiful and well-indicated Scenic Route passes. Along side it there are picnic areas, walking and bicycle trails and observation points, from which one can view the Jezreel Valley and the Lower Galilee region. One of these observation points is Beit Haya'aran (The Forester's House) observation point, which provides the most beautiful views of the oak trees and of the areas east to the forest.
