Ben-Gurion’s Tomb National Park, located 5 kilometers to the south of the kibbutz of Sde Boker, is the final resting place of Israel's first Prime Minister, David Ben-Gurion, and of his wife Pola (Paula). It is found inside Midreshet Ben-Gurion, which is a town near the kibbutz of Sde Boker in the Negev desert between Be'er Sheva and Mitzpe Ramon, which includes education and research institutions. The site is situated on a steep cliff from which one can see the magnificent views of the Zin Valley and Avdat Heights. The path leading from the parking lot to the grave site goes through a well-cared for decorative garden which features the local flora. Ben-Gurion, who declared the establishment of the state of Israel and became its first prime minister, lived with his wife in a modest home, which was known ever since as "Ben-Gurion’s hut”, and which today serves as a museum in his memory.
