In a northern beach strip in front of the Herods Hotel, right next to the border with Jordan in the eastern part of the Mifratz HaShemesh (Sun Bay) Beach, a separate beach for religious people has opened recently which spreads over 70 meters. The Religious Beach is surrounded by a three meters tall solid fence which continues a few meters into the sea as well. Such a fence also separates between the female and male bathers sections. The Religious Beach is closed on Saturdays and Holidays.
