Ein Kadesh and Ein Poriya are the same place: a spring located on the slope of a mountain, not far away from Poriya and looking over the village of Kinneret. The view from here is breathtaking, especially during the early hours of the morning or at sunset, when the sun paints the Sea of Galilee and its banks in orange. The water from the spring gather through a conduit into a water pool, located near palm and tamarisk trees, which were planted here as a part of the development of the area. You will not find a better spot than this one for a worthwhile getaway from the crowds, especially on quiet weekdays. There is a nice aqueduct here, picnic tables and benches and small wooden bridges over narrow water channels. This is a treat for the soul. Whoever feels a need for walking as a part of the nature experience, will be interested in the short trail (about a kilometer and a half) which starts here. And for tradition enthusiasts, it is said that it was here that the messengers of the Biblical Prophetess Deborah met with Barak the son of Abinoam, the military commander of the Israelites’ in the battle against the Canaanites.
