High up above the Harod and Jezreel Valleys, rises Giv’at HaMoreh (Moreh Hill) - a beautiful ridge which provides panoramic views in all directions. Cultivated fields, small settlements and water reservoirs are seen from the top of the hill and provide a sense of peacefulness. At the top of Giv’at HaMoreh, at the height of 515 meters above sea level, a watchtower was built out of dark and severe looking basalt stones, and next to it easy trails and leisure and picnic facilities were constructed. From here you can see the relatively close by mountains of Nazareth and Mount Tabor, and on clear days the Hermon as well. And in between, you can see from Giv’at HaMoreh Mount Precipice, Mount Dvora, the city of Migdal HaEmeq, the Gilboa, Ein Harod and more. You should know that climbing to the top of the watchtower is possible only when it is manned by look-outs, during the summer and a little after it. For blossom lovers, it is recommended to come here especially during the winter, when the Nazareth Iris and the Blue Lupine give an impressive show as far as the eye can see.
Arrival at Giv’at HaMoreh: from road number 65 through Afula. (There are signs from the city. Do not get confused with the neighborhood of Giv’at HaMoreh).
