HaRo'a (Shepherdess) Overnight Campground, and not HaRo’e (Shepherd) as it is often mistakenly called, is a well-established campground that was founded already in the 1950s and is named after the shepherdess Barbara Propper, one of the founders of the nearby kibbutz Sde Boker. It is located next to road number 40 – which allows for an easy vehicle access (but on the other hand at night you will hear passing vehicles). The campground is large and pleasant and includes many tamarisk trees, picnic tables, water taps and even a small area with playground facilities for children. And, of course, this is also an excellent starting point for trips in the Mount Negev area. HaRo'a Overnight Campground offers toilets but no showers or electricity. HaRo'a Overnight Campground is open throughout the year and is free of charge.
Arrival at HaRo'a Overnight Campground: on road number 40, about 1.2 kilometers to the south-west of Halukim Junction, opposite of Sde Boker. Clear signs will point you west toward the campground.
