The lovely Nekarot Stream Overnight Campground, located in the Ramon Crater (Makhtesh Ramon), is on the one hand a secluded place in the heart of the desert, and on the other fairly close to the road that crosses the crater. This has both an advantage and a disadvantage, depending on the type of travelers you are. Beyond this, this is a sparse campground that offers no indulgences - it offers no flowing water, toilets, showers or electricity. It is open throughout the year, free of charge and conveniently accessible to vehicles. Its excellent location allows for early morning trips in the many beautiful trails that the Ramon Crater has to offer (including Parsat Nekarot, Mount Saharonim and more). Please note: do not get confused with the Metsad Nekarot Overnight Campground, which is located deep in the crater and is only accessible by an off-road vehicle.
Arrival at Nekarot Stream Overnight Campground: drive on road number 40 that climbs down from Mitzpe Ramon. When you see the sign that points to the Nekarot Stream which crosses the road, turn south according to the sign.
