Yefet Street is a main street in Jaffa and it is named after Yefet (Japheth), the son of the Biblical Noah. As befitting such a main street, which connects between the famous Clock Tower Square and the city of Bat Yam, it features some of the more interesting sites and attractions in the area: the Clock Tower Square itself, which has been extensively renovated in recent years, with the Clock Tower- which has become one of Jaffa’s symbols- at its center; the mythological Abulafia bakery which is always busy with customers; the nearby Flea Market and a few historic religious and public institutes, such as the first branch of the Anglo-Palestine Bank which was built here in the beginning of the 20th century. There are also some lovely small restaurants here. Yefet Street provides an easy access, by foot or by car, to the picturesque Jaffa Port, the heart of the Old City, the Artists’ Quarter, the beautiful Gan HaPisga (the Summit Garden) and more.
