The Jerusalem Trail (Shvil Yerushalaim), which was inaugurated in 2006, is one of the more interesting initiatives of its kind. As befitting its name, the Jerusalem Trail is a hiking path that introduces its travelers to nature, heritage and history values as well as the landscape of Jerusalem and its surroundings. The Jerusalem Trail, which stretches over 38 kilometers, is divided into various sections and one can hike it in a modular fashion. The Jerusalem Trail begins at Ein Handak and from there it turns east, toward the city. The Jerusalem Trail ends at Sataf and its uniqueness is in the fact that it starts and ends in places on the Israel National Trail. Among the sites and places through which the Jerusalem Trail passes, are: Ein Kerem, Yad VaShem, Mount Herzl, Beit HaKerem, the Museums Complex, the Knesset, Sacher Park, the Rehavia neighborhood, Gai Ben-Hinnom, the City of David, the Kidron Valley, the Tzurim Valley, Mount Scopus, Giv'at HaTahmoshet (Ammunition Hill), Safra Square, the Nahalat Shiv'a neighborhood, the Mahane Yehuda Market, Lifta , Einot Telem (Telem Springs), Nahal Halilim (the flutes stream), Mount Harat and more. The Jerusalem Trail (Shvil Yerushalaim) is marked blue-gold-blue.
