In front of the Jaffa Gate of the Old City of Jerusalem stands one of the most unique malls in Israel. The Mamilla Mall, which is also called the "Alrov Mamilla Avenue”, is mostly outdoor. It opened in 2007 and is considered an integral part of the prestigious Mamilla quarter, which includes Luxury housing and hotels. The Mamilla Mall features tens of chain stores (mostly of fashion and cosmetics, but not only) as well as boutiques, souvenir and gift shops and cafés. Occasionally an interesting art exhibit is presented here and musical performances. Due to the closeness of the Mamilla Mall to the Jaffa Gate, from the mall’s promenade one can see the views of the Old City. The Mamilla Mall is located at a short walking distance from the Western Wall.
