Montfort Lookout at Goren Park

Montfort Lookout, which is located in the heart of Goren Park in the Western Galilee, is one of the most beautiful of its kind. First and foremost, it provides a magnificent and surprising view of the southern cliff, on the opposite side, where the Montfort Castle (or its ruin, to be more accurate) is located. The building of this Crusader fortress started in the beginning of the 13th century and its fine remains include halls, a tower and beautiful lookouts. The Montfort Lookout, which is located on the cliff that is situated above the northern bank of Kziv Stream, also serves as an excellent location for a picnic, as well as a starting point for trips in Kziv Stream and in Goren Park in general. It is always pleasant here, never too busy with travelers, and an excellent spot in which to pass a long relaxing while.
Arrival at Montfort Lookout: take route 899 (the north road- "Kvish HaTzafon”). In a short distance to the east from kibbutz Eilon look for the access road which turns right (south) toward Goren Park and drive according to the signs to Montfort Lookout.
