The “Mifletzet” (Monster) Park

The "Mifletzet” (Monster) Park in Jerusalem is the proof that original names tend to be forgotten quickly, because of another issue that overpowers them. In other words, it is easier to remember a scary monster than Mr. Rabinovitch after whom this park is named. The "Mifletzet” (Monster) Park is an old mythic amusement park that exists already for about 30 years in the Kiryat HaYovel neighborhood of Jerusalem. The "Monster” is in fact an exciting and scary (especially if you are of the right age) colorful sculpture with slides. It is a concrete construction, which was created by the French sculptress Niki de Saint Phalle (incidentally, she originally named this construction the "Golem"). In order to get inside it and climb up one needs to use a dark stair case, at the top of which one encounters three slides that are in fact the Monster’s long tongues. It is true, there are other lovely installations at the "Mifletzet” (Monster) Park, but can any of them actually compete with the "Monster”? The little ones will thank you. And that is a promise.
Arrival to the "Mifletzet” (Monster) Park (Rabinovitch Park) from the corner of Thon and Hantke Streets.
