Musmar Pottery is a family pottery making factory in Nazareth, which was established over a hundred years ago by Hannah Saeed Musmar, who started to make pottery already when he was a child. In the beginning of the 20th century Hannah Saeed Musmar was sent to Germany to learn the craft of pottery making and upon finishing his studies he looked for a suitable place in which to open his pottery factory. After considering places such as Syria and Jordan, he eventually decided on Nazareth. The Musmar Pottery factory, which was founded in 1919, is still active and is now run by Hannah Saeed Musmar’s grandchildren, who also opened in it an interesting visitor center. The visit at the visitor center of the Musmar Pottery factory takes about an hour and includes explanations about the clay, the work methods and the diverse machinery that is used in the pottery making process. The highlight of the visit at the Musmar Pottery factory is a personal experience of making a clay pot. One can also order in advance home-made meals here that are prepared in clay dishes. Suitable for children from the age of four.
