Refaim Valley Park is part of the Jerusalem Park, a huge metropolitan park which includes also the Motza Valley Park, HaArazim Valley Park and Tzofim Valley Park. Through the Refaim Valley Park passes the Refaim Stream, one of the main tributaries of the Sorek Stream. Refaim Stream begins its course near Jerusalem’s Old Train Station and it flows from the area of the German Colony to the west, leaving the city’s residential area near the Zoo, under Massuah Hill. Refaim Valley Park includes Ein Lavan (meaning "white spring”), a contact spring named so due to the light shade of the chalk rock that is characteristic to the Lavan Ridge where it flows. Ein Lavan includes a relatively deep pool (about a meter and a half in depth)- in the cool water of which one can enjoy a pleasant dip, a shallow pool for small children, an almond and fig trees orchard and a natural grove of oak trees. This place is well loved by the residents of Jerusalem and it is quite busy during the weekends. You can access the Refaim Valley Park through a dirt road named the "Nadav Road” (after the soldier Nadav Elad who fell during a military operation in Hebron), which leaves from the Biblical Zoo’s parking lot.
