The Tomb of Rabbi Meir Baal HaNes

The structure of the Tomb of Rabbi Meir Baal HaNes in Tiberias, which is seen to a distance due to its light blue dome, is located in the southern part of Tiberias and almost touches on the shores of the Sea of Galilee. The tomb itself is hidden under a synagogue which was built here later, in 1867. About 30 years later, a Sephardic Yeshiva was also founded here. On site there are an Ashkenazi and a Sephardic sections and all is surrounded by an atmosphere of holiness, as befitting the place in which is buried (according to tradition) the man who was called Baal HaNes (the miracle maker). This is due to his reputation as a miracle maker. And this is also why Jews from all around Israel and outside of it have been coming here for many hundreds of years in the hope for health and the curing of various diseases. Either way, always - each and every day, hour and season – you will find here people who came here to pray over the tomb.
Arrival at the Tomb of Rabbi Meir Baal HaNes: enter Tiberias from road number 90. In the south of the city, near Hamat Tiberias, there is an ascent which leads to the parking lot that serves those who arrive to visit the tomb.
