Without performing a comprehensive research on the subject, it is likely to assume that everyone who sees Berekhat Ram (Ram Pool or Lake Ram), which is in the Golan Heights, does so from a great distance and height. Because this sparkling "blue eye” is seen well from many locations around it. However, it seems that not many bother to climb down, to the water’s surface, and experience from up-close this magnificent water reservoir. It is not easy to get here, to this place near the Druze village of Mas'ade, for the simple reason that the signs are not great- which also means that there will not be many people here, even on busy Saturdays. The beautiful Berekhat Ram (Ram Pool or Lake Ram) was created ages ago, due to various volcanic processes. The basalt texture which surrounds Berekhat Ram is a testimony to what took place here in the far away past. Berekhat Ram is a few hundreds of meters in diameter and a few meters in depth. When the wind blows, small waves lap on the pool’s edges and give the pool the look of a small lake.
