This beautiful house on 8 HaNamal Street in Jaffa, opposite of the south-east end of warehouse 2 at the Jaffa Port, was built in 1892 and served as the servants’ quarters of the Turkish Governor. From 1964, this house served as the studio of the painter Moshe Rosenthalis until his death in 2008. A year later this place was inaugurated as a gallery for his works. Here, at the Rosenthalis House, under the arched ceilings and next to the arched windows, which characterize the houses of Jaffa in the Ottoman period, is presented the permanent exhibition of the works of Moshe Rosenthalis, who painted in front of this wonderful marine landscape and immortalized it in many of his paintings.
