The Igudan Visitors Center Rishon Le-Zion

Not many people think about the long and fascinating process which water goes through from the moment that we turn off the tap in the kitchen or flush the toilet, unattractively titled "the wastewater treatment process”. However, this is a rich and special world, and it is important and interesting to know how it works. The educational-ecological "Igudan” (the Dan Region Association of Towns for Sewage and Environmental Issues) Visitors Center, which is located in the "ShafdanPlant for the treatment of the wastewater of the Dan Region, in the city of Rishon LeZion, is committed to promoting and fostering environmental awareness in the community. Thus the visitors here receive an interactive experience which combines educational films, a simulation of a tour inside an underground pipe and an introduction to the water recycling process. Various areas at the Igudan Visitors Center were given imaginative names such as: "The whispering pipes”, "The peeking slots”, "The periscopes”, "The information taps & toilet tanks” and more. Recently, a special tour for the ages of 5-8 was launched here. The tour, which lasts about two hours, is for groups. Located on Maryland Avenue in West Rishon LeZion (south of the "Superland”).
